Travel and Lift Sharing
We have purposefully selected a venue that has good transport links. All attendees (delegates, staff and partners) are encouraged to find the most environmentally friendly way to come to the venue. This may include taking public transport and sharing car rides.
How to get to the Glasgow Caledonian University.
We have set up a private lift share page on Caroster for the DTAS Annual Conference 2025. You can use this page to advertise your driving route as a passenger or a driver. Once you’ve advertised your route, others travelling a similar route can request to share.
Why we are returning to the Glasgow Caledonian University
The DTAS Annual Conference has grown significantly and is now attended by almost 300 people. To deliver the conference in its current format, we have quite an ambitious criteria when it comes to selecting a suitable venue: a lecture theatre that sits 250+, 15+ workshop rooms, welcome/reception area, space for up to 20 Marketplace stalls, dining space for 250+ and a formal dinner venue space; all of which must be accessible and close to one another.
In line with our environmental strategy, the venue must also have good public transport links with the whole of Scotland to ensure DTAS is able to meet net zero commitments.
The Conference Team has done significant research and visits to venues across Scotland, but have been unable to find a venue that fits all these criteria. For this reason, we are returning to the Glasgow Caledonian University in 2025.
If you have ideas for venues we could consider for future years, please let us know by emailing conference@dtascot.org.uk
